The IWCC is pleased to announce that registration for the 2025 Technical Seminar, held in the USA, is open. The Technical Seminar is the only global seminar covering the latest technological developments in the copper semis industry. This high-level event brings together top experts from semis fabricators, equipment suppliers and academia for a programme of plant visits, keynote speakers and networking designed by industry representatives. This event builds upon successful IWCC Technical Seminars held in Osaka, Japan, and Milan, Italy in the past few years. Please click here to register for this event.
The event will begin with a plant visit to the Wieland Recycling Plant in Shelbyville, Kentucky on 3rd of March. The 78 acre site melts and recycles copper and copper alloy scrap for use in manufacturing semi-finished products throughout North America, and is a pioneer in creating a circular economy and carbon neutrality in the copper industry.
The event will then move to Dallas, where a two-day seminar focusing on downstream processes will be held on the 4th of March. The topics discussed in this seminar include: a comprehensive update on the latest developments in the copper industry in the USA, the modernisation of the Slitting process, thermos treatments, surface treatment, automation in downstream processes and how AI can be used in the measuring and inspection process. The seminar will include speakers and panelists from companies all around the globe, including MMC, YKK and Trumpf. A full list of topics and speakers can be found here.
The event will conclude with a second site visit, to the Encore Wire plant in McKinney, Texas, on the 6th of March. This plant stretches over 460 acres and a 3.5 million square-foot campus, making Encore Wire a leading manufacturer of copper wire across all major industries.
The IWCC Technical Seminar also provides unparallelled networking opportunities for engineers in the copper semis fabricating industry. Delegates will stay in the Westin Galleria in Dallas, and the event will hold dinners at the Y.O Ranch Steakhouse and the Meso Maya restaurants. This gives delegates the chance to catch up and network with friends across the industry and enhance their relationships with fellow IWCC members.
We look forward to seeing many of you at the IWCC Technical Seminar. More information about the event will be posted on our LinkedIn page. If you have any further questions about the event, please contact us at iwcc@coppercouncil.org.
